HEART OF THE WORLD was specifically inspired by two other creative projects - a BBC documentary of the same title, and Marlo Morgan's book "Mutant Message Down Under". I was reading this touching book on the fall of the indigenous tribes of Australia, when a friend brought me a video about the Kogi - a tribe in the mountains of Columbia who believe they are the "elder brother" and we (the rest of the world) are the "younger brother". The Kogi can see by weather patterns, and other ecological signs of their mountain range, that younger brother has been "not living right", and they wanted to get the message out to younger brother to turn the tide before it's too late to save this planet. I wrote Heart Of The World (and used the rhythm instruments of indigenous tribes) to add my voice to their globally important message.
