about
There were so many jokes about Pamela’s having written this song for her mentor, Clive Davis, the then President of Columbia Records, Pamela can’t remember whether she actually did or not!! But truly, Clive was tremendously generous with his support throughout the three years she spent on the CBS label and gave her the confidence to be honest in her writing, and playful in her performance. This song features the wonderful Rowan Bros on back-up vocals. Pamela has always loved competing with them to see who could sing the highest.
lyrics
Sugar Dad
(Pamela Polland)
Sugar Daddy, Sugar Daddy, Daddy, you're so fine
I'm talkin' 'bout my Sugar Daddy, whoa sugar!, Sugar Daddy you're so fine.
Buy me a red dress and bring it all the way from France
I'm gonna get you a ticket for the front row, daddy, so you can watch me do my sexy dance
I'm talkin' 'bout my Sugar Daddy,Sugar Sugar Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, you're so fine
Whoa, so fine.
Keep on livin', but sometimes it's hard to tell what's right from wrong
But you know I'll be so glad, long as I've got my Sugar Dad
To keep me hangin' on, to keep me havin' fun, fun.
Oh, I wanna have a little fun, fun.
Sugar Daddy, Sugar Sugar Daddy, Sugar Daddy, you're so fine
Call you up on the telephone, ("Hello, Pamela"), next Friday night)
Gonna make sure that you're feelin' good, I'm gonna
Set things right - between us.....
Sugar Daddy, Sugar Sugar Daddy, Sugar Daddy, you're so fine
Oh, I'm singin' "You're so fine"
Dit dit dit dit you're so fine, Sugar Daddy, you're so fine
I'm singin' dit dit dit dit you're so fine, Sugar Daddy, you're so fine
